Trying to currently upload pic of the area in question, as soon as I can I will add the pic.
OK--Johnny--The bolt is a 5/16 x 24 NF x 1 1/8, metal to metal contact, passenger seat is not bolted to wheel well, it is held only by the two bolts in the front at the pivot point( yes, that means the seat could technically fly front on a sudden stop). Dont know if there is a diffence between willys and gpw seats in construction detail of this attachment point.
This is not a very good pic for detail, but the bump you see on the horizontal tube is the T-nut(?) that is welded on the backside of the tube for securing the drivers seat to the wheel well. As you can see I need to clean up the frame before repainting.

No, the side of the wheel well and the one side of the frame of the seat support the position, on both sides...passenger and drivers. It's just the drivers that is bolted through.
That Bolt from the wheel well to the captive nut is:-
Bolt, Hex-Head, S, 5/16"-24NF-2, x 1-3/8"
