TonyStandefer escribió:I recently purchased and installed a repro muffler from RFJP. My old muffler was a "NOS" muffler/exhaust purchased in the early 1990's from AJP. The old muffler looks like it has a date code of "66" embossed in it, as I remember it did come in military packaging so it could have been OEM. After insalling the RFJP muffler, the sound is good, it fit my existing exhaust pipe, however now I am having issues with my existing repro muffler clamp which will not properly tighten and seal the muffler to the pipe. Most likely this is due to a poor quality repro muffler clamp I purchased quite some time ago, I will have to order a new one from RFJP. My only complaint would be that the RFJP muffler came painted a odd green color which I had to paint over. The overall size and shape of the RFJP muffler is the same as the old one, however the construction of the muffler is more modern as can be seen in the photos. The seam on the side of the muffler is crimped quite differently than the old one. It is interesting to note that the OEM muffler developed a leak after 16 years. The price point on the RFJP muffler was very reasonable. I purchased this muffler based on reviews by other forum members. Hopefully this information will help other forum members make an informed decision. Not having photos or more info on vendor websites seems to be common in this hobby.
