I was taught long ago to install the cotter pin head in the slot like on the generator pulley photo and not like the first photo on the axle shaft photo that wraps the pin around the nut. I'm not sure which is the correct way... anyone with documentation?
The exception I have seen before may be the late emergency brake.
But, it also may be a Ford vs. Willys issue.
