The Ford tranny does have the triangle casting mark with the FF sitting back to back.
Date stamp on the Ford tranny is aug.1st. 1944

1 - GPW case with fill and drain holes on the right side.
--------GPW 7006 in line over script F on left side.
2 - GPW case with fill and drain holes on the left side but undrilled plug castings bosses are still on right side.

3 - GPW case with fill and drain holes on the left side but no plug castings on the right side.

-------Can be a Ford GPW Warner Gear Transmission ( these have a Date Code on top lip ).
4 - GPW case with raised fill plug on left side ( H cast on case ).

The transmission case in your second set of photos is an early type right hand fill. All GPW right hand fill cases were cast and assembled by Ford whom did not assembly date their in house assembled transmissions. I do not know what the " S " stamp means.
